Release 2 of the Hazardous Liquids Control Room Class is available now.  Currently in use by 6 hazardous liquids pipeline operating companies, this class helps operators meet the requirements of the control room regulations and the operator qualification requirements.  Operating companies can build the lessons into their current or future learning management systems.

Introductory Video

Upgrades and changes from Release 1 to Release 2 include the following:

  • Learning objective for each lesson clearly defined.
  • Equipment and Components removed,
  • Control Room Management and Alarm Management lessons added.
  • New and upgraded screen shots added.
  • Overall introduction lesson added.
  • Hydraulics and Hydraulic Tools significantly upgraded.
  • Enhanced video and audio in upgraded format.
  • Additional pauses built in to allow easier facilitation.

Clients use these lessons as the basis for their company training programs by supplementing the lessons with information about their specific pipeline systems, scada, leak detection, and work processes. Companies use their own Subject Matter Experts (SME)s to facilitate the training, following up with details applying to individual practices and systems.

The videos are delivered to the client on a flash drive in mp4 format, the training manuals are in pdf format, and the questions with answers are in Microsoft Word Format.

How to Use the Lessons

The program provides approximately 9 hours of introductory training for new hazardous liquids pipeline controllers but even veteran controllers will benefit from refreshers in Hydraulic tools, Power Optimization, Advanced Operational Hydraulics, and Abnormal Operations. Clients use these lessons as the basis for their company specific programs by supplementing the lessons with information about their pipeline systems, scada, leak detection, and work processes. Companies use their own Subject Matter Experts (SME)s to facilitate the training, following up with details applying to individual practices and systems.
